Felitaurs are built much more like Centaurs than they like to admit.
Instead of their horse lowers they have the bodies of lions. They have natural flexibility almost unrivalled, it helps them keep themselves well groomed and out of trouble.
They are loyal beings, and tend to stick together. There are less divides between clans as there are any others, their skin tones and patterns are just differences they admire amongst themselves. Their leaders are merely the ones with the gift of gab and strength to back up their claims.
On a whole water is best avoided by the clans as they tend to dislike being wet for long periods of time. The majority live in the mountains and in more recluse areas of the forests.
Felitaurs tend to keep themselves to themselves, very independent beings that are content with their own company as much as they are in small groups. Communication isn't the best between the felines and sometimes mistaken identity does lead to mock brawling.
Some are violent, others are overly affectionate. It all depends on the life they have lead and the instincts they have been forced to use. They make fantastic medical staff and therapists.

Phoenix part 1 general.
I had planned on releasing information about phoenixes later, but there's somewhere else on the internet I am posting information about them. So.. for now I am making it clear that these are my imaginings, a little different from the mythology I've been told for many years.
Phoenixes on Mournie have three forms.
The humanoid form, the eagle form, and the dragon form.
The dragon form is rarer and usually used as a last resort only.
Some prefer to stay as humans, others as eagles. They can often be compared to angels for their wings be used in their humanoid forms.
They can live several lifetimes and be born from two phoenixes, or earn the distinction.
They live far in an unreachable and hidden area, keeping themselves to themselves is their prerogative as they look over everything.
People often think of them as passive, those that do have not seen their dragon forms.
It takes a lot for a phoenix to give up its humanity, once a dragon they are marked distinctly after they dare take that step.

Humans Part 1 - General information
Humans were a small group... eventually the humans that existed saw what the taurs had and wanted it.
Only they were more successful at managing to divide and conquer and spot weaknesses than the 'taurs were.
Now already this sounds cliche about the big bad humans... but that's not how it really is.
'Taurs war amongst themselves as much as the humans managed to take over. Taur wars usually are more carefully planned and territorial, one on one battles favoured over advanced weaponry.
Now, politics aside, humans have a wonderful amount of variation to them. They have two legs for the most part and two arms, again for the most part. They don't tend to have limbs missing, or any extra ones, but that can happen occasionally.
Their hair however long is styled however they wish. They are usually covered with clothes for their own dignity.
They come in all shapes and sizes. Fat, thin, tall, short, shapely, angular.
They come with any sexuality they want, equipped with their own prejudices about that.
Humans tend to have no connection to magic, half bred fae are another story.

Alan Winne
Name: Alan Winne
Age: Unknown
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Unknown - Relocation and awareness agent.
Distinguishing marks: None
Alan Winne meets the 'taurs while they are enduring their stint of captivity. He is shocked to see them and the sheer variety of those that were taken.
He begins talking to them and in all his compassion he wants to hear their stories. He ends up getting close to a small band of the 'taurs and with their permission he bands together with them to raise awareness about the 'taurs.
He is one day quiet and the next full of boundless energy, people who know him are used to him, to strangers it is hard for them to figure out how he ticks. He has a strong sense of professionalism and is not afraid to tell his superiors to shove it when he disagrees with their tactics.
Anything he wears is sturdy enough to travel in, and he is never without a backpack with spare clothes and usual supplies. He is not one for weaponry but for his own reasons he always does carry a gun and a spare clip or two of ammo. He can turn on those around him quite easily.

Centaurs Part 2 "Breeds"
There are many types of Centaurs and really the main differences all come down their feet.
Or as we humans call them Hooves.
There's either feather footed stronger centaurs, more commonly linked to draft or war horses. These Centaurs are more equipped for carrying loads in wagons behind them, or fending off the enemy.
The large muscled giants are formidable and always seem intimidating, usually their hearts are in the right places. The largest are usually linked to war either blacksmiths or warriors or medics. Their upper bodies are far more varied than their lower definitive halves. Natural muscle resides, and more that has been trained after that.
Or there are more fleet footed centaurs. These are the ones that are with less obligation to the wellfare of the clans and a little more solitary. Many moons ago they lived in more happy heards, but after their numbers started dropping more and more began living in the forests and becoming the safeguards, or caretakers, of the woods. They are usually faster and more lithe than the feather footed giants.
Most of the fleet-footers are able to have strong connections with the dryads and other creatures that live on a more spiritual level.
The elder clans are normally slimmer footed forest dwelling creatures. Their skin and fur usually pale, as if bleached by the sun. Nobody really knows where they live, they just seem to be.
Some centaurs are a mix of both as cross breeding appears, but they usually pick one trait and stick to it as they grow up. The stockier they are naturally the more hardy their pursuits.

Just a little warning
The characters in Mournie are heterosexual, homosexual, or even pansexual. The characters in Mournie are male, female, or even both.
Most of the characters are not human.
There are many different themes that may be a little cringeworthy, who knows, depends how open minded you are.
All of the character profiles will contain quite a few spoilers until this project gets underway.
The species files are NOT scientific. I will be doing research into some animal behaviors, but remember this, the characters have human minds (for lack of better phrasing). I am not a scientific writer in general, but I will try to do what I can to keep things simple to understand without patronizing the heck out of everything.

Centaurs Part 1 Generalisations
The world of Mornie is home to many different races. One of the more common species is that of the Centaurs.
They come in many shapes and sizes, often they classify themselves by the horse breeds they find themselves similar to.
For example: Rayner is a Shire horse mix. He is a runt, but still he most resembles one. Others are far larger and far more intimidating, they can reach 10 human feet tall easily. Shanti oddly resembles a fawn, yet he is still a centaur, based off a lithe horse.
Now different 'breeds' of Centaurs naturally come from different areas. They were once the common protectors of the lands they lived on, trees and flatlands alike. Over the years on Mornie their powers subsided and they became as tuneless to the magics of the world as the rising power of humans were.
Some of the clans have natural longevity and tend to command a greater respect over the others. Usually leaders come from the main clans or travel the lands when they feel old enough to rule over an area of their choosing. It confuses many a centaur as it works and with dwindling numbers any of the white clans are usually respected no matter their age.
Rayner does not know what one looks like, but it is said that it is something one feels. He does not fear them, and even if once in his life he would like to see one of his kind that would help lead those lost to better places.
Centaurs that are captured by humans are either work horses or... well, whatever their human masters want them to do. Some keepers are friends, others cruel masters.
Many wars have been fought against kin and others alike, some centaurs training from near birth to protect themselves, their kin, their land. Pride runs deep in centaur blood, it takes a lot to whittle them down and destroy them.
